Shopify migration
Replatform to Shopify. Keep everything that matters.
Magento, WooCommerce, OpenCart or PrestaShop: WebCEO moves products, orders, customers, loyalty data, content and POS onto Shopify, with URL redirects so rankings survive the switch.
When to move
You know it is time when the pain of staying outweighs the fear of moving.
Ask these with your team. Two or more "yes" answers and a migration will pay for itself.
- 1Traffic spikes affect uptime or page speed
- 2Your platform's security has failed at a critical moment
- 3You hear or say "we can't do that" every month
- 4DIY patches and workarounds are common: fix this, that breaks
- 5The team spends its time maintaining, not innovating
- 6New features and apps are delayed by in-house or agency constraints
- 7Help desk, social and email are dominated by functionality complaints
What moves
Six data sets, mapped and verified before cut-over
-
Products
Variants, images, metafields, collections
-
Orders
Full history, fulfilment and refunds
-
Customers
Accounts, addresses, tags, consent
-
Loyalty
Points and tiers into a Shopify loyalty app
-
Content
Pages, blogs, navigation, redirects
-
POS
Outlets, staff, registers, in-store history
Every migration gets a reconciliation report: record counts and sample checks, old versus new.
How it works
A migration without downtime
- 01
Audit and URL map
Catalogue, integrations and every indexed URL. Each old URL gets a Shopify destination.
- 02
Build on staging
Theme, apps and integrations on a staging domain while the old store keeps trading.
- 03
Trial migration
Full data load, reconciliation report, your team tests orders end to end.
- 04
Cut-over
Final delta sync, DNS switch outside trading hours, redirects live, sitemap submitted. Rankings monitored for 30 days.
What can be migrated to Shopify?
Products and variants, orders, customers, content pages and blogs, loyalty programme data, and point-of-sale history from Magento, WooCommerce, OpenCart and PrestaShop.
Will my Google rankings drop after migrating to Shopify?
Not if URLs are mapped and redirected. We map every old product, category and content URL to its new Shopify path with 301 redirects and submit the new sitemap on launch day.
How long does a migration to Shopify take?
Four to ten weeks is typical. Data volume, custom integrations and theme design decide the timeline. The old store keeps running until cut-over.
Is there downtime during the switch?
No. The new Shopify store is built and tested on a staging domain. Cut-over is a DNS change with a final data sync, usually done outside trading hours.
How do I know it is time to replatform?
When traffic spikes hurt uptime, security has failed, your team says "we can't do that", patches keep breaking things, or new features are always delayed. If two or more apply, it is time.
